Piazza Italia Seniors Centre

The National Congress of Italian-Canadians was established in 1979 and, shortly after, appealed to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to build a senior's residence. Founding Board members included Carlo Amodio, Rudy Cavaliere and Tony Mazzuca. Board members from the Congress served as the Board of Piazza Italia and ensured that services were provided to residents. While, initially, the Centre was dedicated to Italian seniors, for many years, it has welcomed people of all ethnocultural origins. It is now part of the Vista Housing for Seniors Association. The NCIC continues to provide a representative for the Board.
